Hopkinton Hawks (Contoocook, NH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Somersworth Toppers (Somersworth, NH), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 10-8 record.

With the loss, Somersworth falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Toppers host Hillsboro-Deering (Hillsboro, NH) to face the Hillcats in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 23. The Hillcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-12. Hillsboro-Deering won 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH)
