Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Ursuline Fighting Irish (Youngstown, OH) and the visiting Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH), witnessed Ursuline's softball squad tip Mathews by a count of 4-1.

The Fighting Irish now sport a 21-3 record. They play next when they travel to Northwestern for a non-league match on Wednesday, May 25. Ursuline will face a Huskies squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Brookside (Sheffield, OH). The Huskies record now stands at 15-5.

With the loss, Mathews moves to 20-6 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Hopewell-Loudon (Bascom, OH) to meet the Chieftains in a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 25. The Chieftains go into the battle with a record of 24-2. Hopewell-Loudon won 9-5 in their recent league battle against Lakota (Kansas, OH)
