In Monday's league contest, the Phoebus Phantoms (Hampton, VA) softball team held off the visiting Woodside Wolverines (Newport News, VA), by a margin of 4-3.

With the triumph, Phoebus moves its record to 9-9 on the year.

In their next game, the Wolverines play the Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, May 25. Woodside will attempt to move on its 6-10 season record. The Warriors come into the contest with a 6-2 record after their 9-3 non-league win over Nandua (Onley, VA).
