Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Blue Valley West Jaguars (Stilwell, KS), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Blues now own a 13-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Olathe Northwest for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 24. Washburn Rural will battle a Ravens squad coming off a 9-4 non-league win over Blue Valley (Stilwell, KS). The Ravens record now stands at 21-4.

With the loss, Blue Valley West falls to 0-4 on the campaign.
