Mt. Baker Mountaineers (Deming, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cascade Christian Cougars (Puyallup, WA), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 14-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Seton Catholic for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 24. Mt. Baker will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Cashmere (Cashmere, WA). The Cougars record now stands at 15-5.

With the loss, Cascade Christian falls to 19-7 on the campaign. The Cougars host Riverside (Chattaroy, WA) to battle the Rams in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 24. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. Riverside won 13-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Shadle Park (Spokane, WA)
