Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish (Kankakee, IL) and the visiting Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL), witnessed Bishop McNamara's softball squad tip Coal City by a count of 9-2.
The Fightin' Irish now sport a 26-7 record. They play next when they travel to Pontiac for a non-league match on Friday, May 27. Bishop McNamara will meet a Indians squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Manteno (Manteno, IL). The Indians record now stands at 25-7.
With the loss, Coal City moves to 15-16 on the season.
