Lancaster Red Devils (Lancaster, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 19-9 in a non-league test.

With the win, Lancaster upgrades its record to 17-6 on the season. The Red Devils travel to Essex (Tappahannock, VA) to battle the Trojans in a non-league test on Tuesday, May 30. The Trojans come into the test with a record of 19-4. Essex won 21-3 in their recent non-league test against West Point (West Point, VA)

With the defeat, Mathews falls to 8-10 on the season.
