The Newport Tigers softball team scored 22 runs and held the host Mascoma Royals to 1 in the Tigers league win on Monday.

The Tigers now possess a 13-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sunapee for a non-league battle on Wednesday, May 28. Newport will confront a Lakers team coming off a 14-2 league win over Wilton-Lyndeborough (Wilton, NH). The Lakers record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Mascoma moves to 0-14 on the season. The Royals travel to Gilford (Gilford, NH) to confront the Golden Eagles in a Division III battle on Tuesday, May 27. The Golden Eagles come into the battle with a record of 10-4. Gilford won 3-2 in their recent league battle against Fall Mountain (Langdon, NH)
