St. Mary's Pirates (Colorado Springs, CO) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Rye Thunderbolts (Rye, CO), 7-6 in a non-league test.

With the win, St. Mary's upgrades its record to 18-8 on the season. The Pirates travel to Peyton (Peyton, CO) to battle the Panthers in a non-league test on Saturday, May 28. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 25-1. Peyton won 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Buena Vista (Buena Vista, CO)

With the defeat, Rye falls to 22-4 on the season.

This game is a part of the 2022 CHSAA State Baseball Championships - Class 2A Regional/State Bracket tournament
