Villa Grove Blue Devils (Villa Grove, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Serena Huskers (Serena, IL), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 24-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 31. Villa Grove will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 6-4 non-league win over East Dubuque (East Dubuque, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 29-5.

With the loss, Serena falls to 22-8 on the campaign.
