Buena Chiefs (Buena, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gateway Regional Gators (Woodbury Heights, NJ), 6-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Chiefs now own a 18-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Haddon Township for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 30. Buena will battle a Hawks squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Woodstown (Woodstown, NJ). The Hawks record now stands at 19-6.

With the loss, Gateway Regional falls to 9-11 on the campaign.
