Peru Nighthawks (Peru, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Saranac Lake Red Storm (Saranac Lake, NY), 19-0 in a league challenge.

The Nighthawks now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host Plattsburgh for a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Tuesday, June 1. Peru will face a Hornets squad coming off a 17-1 league win over Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY). The Hornets record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, Saranac Lake falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Red storm travel to Ticonderoga (Ticonderoga, NY) to face the Sentinels in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I challenge on Tuesday, June 1. The Sentinels enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Ticonderoga lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY)
