Iowa High School Baseball - Van Meter nips Winterset

In Friday's non-league game, the host Van Meter Bulldogs baseball team scored a close 8-7 win over the Winterset Huskies.
The Bulldogs (4-4) will now prepare for their game against Pleasantville (Pleasantville, IA). The Trojans go into the West Central game with a 6-0 record. In their last game, Pleasantville nudged Unity Christian (Orange City, IA), 11-5, in a non-league game.
Next, the Huskies play the Mount Ayr Raiders & Raiderettes (Mount Ayr, IA) in a non-league game, on Monday, June 1. Winterset will attempt to improve on its 6-1 season record. The Raiders & Raiderettes go into the game with a 4-0 record after their 5-0 league win over Southeast Warren (Liberty Center, IA).
