The Caston Comets nipped the visiting Lewis Cass Kings softball squad by a final score of 8-7 in Monday's non-league battle.
The Comets (18-1) will now prepare for their battle against Manchester (North Manchester, IN). The Squires go into the non-league battle with a 9-4 record. In their last battle, Manchester held off Central Noble (Albion, IN), 10-9, in a non-league battle.
The Kings now possess a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Hamilton Heights for a Hoosier battle on Tuesday, May 4. Lewis Cass will confront a Huskies squad coming off a 13-2 league loss to Northwestern (Kokomo, IN). The Huskies record now stands at 1-8.
