Nooksack Valley Pioneers (Everson, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 14-0 record. They take the field next when they host Anacortes for a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Friday, May 6. Nooksack Valley will battle a Seahawks squad coming off a 5-2 league loss to Blaine (Blaine, WA). The Seahawks record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Mount Vernon falls to 5-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Sedro-Woolley (Sedro-Woolley, WA) to battle the Cubs in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest challenge on Thursday, May 5. The Cubs enter the challenge with a record of 13-1. Sedro-Woolley won 10-7 in their recent league challenge against Burlington-Edison (Burlington, WA)
