Passaic Valley Hornets (Little Falls, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pompton Lakes Cardinals (Pompton Lakes, NJ), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wayne Hills for a Big North challenge on Wednesday, May 4.

With the loss, Pompton Lakes falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Glen Rock (Glen Rock, NJ) to meet the Panthers in a non-league match on Thursday, May 5. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 6-3. Glen Rock won 5-0 in their recent league match against Garfield (Garfield, NJ)
