Indiana High School Softball - Speedway holds off Southport

May 3, 2023: Speedway, IN 46224

Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Speedway Sparkplugs (Speedway, IN) and the visiting Southport Cardinals (Indianapolis, IN), witnessed Speedway's softball squad tip Southport by a count of 10-8.

The Sparkplugs now sport a 4-5 record. They play next when they host North Central for a non-league match on Friday, May 5. Speedway will face a Panthers squad coming off a 13-6 non-league loss to Living Water Homeschool (Indianapolis, IN). The Panthers record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Southport moves to 5-12 on the season. The Cardinals host Perry Meridian (Indianapolis, IN) to face the Falcons in a non-league match on Friday, May 5. The Falcons go into the match with a record of 6-11. Perry Meridian lost 5-2 in their recent league match against Plainfield (Plainfield, IN)
