Staples Wreckers (Westport, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Trumbull Eagles (Trumbull, CT), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Wreckers now own a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they host Stamford for a Fairfield County challenge on Friday, May 5. Staples will battle a Black Knights squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Ludlowe (Fairfield, CT). The Black Knights record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Trumbull falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Wilton (Wilton, CT) to battle the Warriors in a Fairfield County challenge on Friday, May 5. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 6-6. Wilton lost 8-2 in their recent league challenge against Westhill (Stamford, CT)
