Norwich Free Academy Wildcats (Norwich, CT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Amity Regional Spartans (Woodbridge, CT), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookfield for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. Norwich Free Academy will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 12-3 non-league win over Bethel (Bethel, CT). The Bobcats record now stands at 12-3.

With the loss, Amity Regional falls to 11-5 on the campaign. The Spartans host Lyman Hall (Wallingford, CT) to battle the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Lyman Hall won 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Sacred Heart Academy (Hamden, CT)
