The crowd at Friday's league match between the Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) and the visiting Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL), saw Champaign Central's softball squad nip Bloomington by a count of 2-1.

The Maroons now sport a 15-8 record. They take the field next when they host Normal West for a Big Twelve match on Monday, May 6. Champaign Central will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 6-0 non-league loss to Moline (Moline, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-11.

With the loss, Bloomington falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Purple raiders travel to Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL) to face the Braves in a non-league match on Monday, May 6. The Braves enter the match with a record of 20-5. Mt. Zion won 13-10 in their recent league match against Charleston (Charleston, IL)
