The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils (Cato, NY) and the visiting Fabius Pompey Falcons (Fabius, NY), saw Cato-Meridian's softball squad nip Fabius Pompey by a count of 6-2.

The Blue Devils now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Weedsport for a Section 3 Patriot National match on Saturday, May 4. Cato-Meridian will face a Warriors squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Hannibal (Hannibal, NY). The Warriors record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Fabius Pompey falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to McGraw (McGraw, NY) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Monday, May 6. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 4-5. McGraw won 10-9 in their recent non-league match against General Brown (Dexter, NY)
