The Somerville Pioneers (Somerville, NJ) softball routed the visiting Edison Eagles (Edison, NJ), 13-5 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Pioneers (10-6) will now prepare for their bout against Franklin (Somerset, NJ). The Warriors go into the non-league bout with a 12-5 record. In their last bout, Franklin toppled Belvidere (Belvidere, NJ), 5-1, in a non-league bout.
The Eagles now possess a 6-8 record. They play next when they host Highland Park for a non-league bout on Tuesday, May 7. Edison will confront a Owls squad coming off a 15-9 league win over South River (South River, NJ). The Owls record now stands at 9-3.
