The Erie Cardinals softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Mendota Trojans to 1 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Erie moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Cardinals host Orion (Orion, IL) to play the Chargers in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 8. The Chargers come into the game with a record of 7-16. Orion lost 13-0 in their recent league game against Morrison (Morrison, IL)

In their next game, the Trojans play the Kewanee Boilermakers (Kewanee, IL) in a Three Rivers East game, on Monday, May 6. Mendota will attempt to move on its 2-12 season record. The Boilermakers come into the game with a 12-10 record after their 6-1 league win over Hall (Spring Valley, IL).
