In Friday's non-league contest, the Hayfield Vikings (Hayfield, MN) softball team held off the visiting Springfield Tigers (Springfield, MN), by a margin of 9-8.
With the triumph, Hayfield moves its record to 8-5 on the year. The Vikings host United South Central (Wells, MN) to play the Rebels in a non-league contest on Thursday, May 9. The Rebels come into the contest with a record of 11-1.
