Stroudsburg Mountaineers (Stroudsburg, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Honesdale Hornets (Honesdale, PA), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Louis E. Dieruff for a Eastern Pennsylvania Conference game on Saturday, May 4. Stroudsburg will clash with a Huskies team coming off a 12-1 non-league loss to Wilson Area (Easton, PA). The Huskies record now stands at 0-8.

In their next game, the Hornets clash with the Western Wayne Wildcats (Lake Ariel, PA) in a Lackawanna 3 game, on Monday, May 6. Honesdale will attempt to move on its 3-13 season record. The Wildcats come into the game with a 0-7 record after their 15-2 league loss to Mid Valley (Throop, PA).
