New Dorp Central Cougars (Staten Island, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lincoln Railsplitters (Brooklyn, NY), 19-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Central Cougars now own a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tottenville for a PSAL Staten Island A challenge on Saturday, May 4.

With the loss, Lincoln falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Railsplitters host Port Richmond (Staten Island, NY) to battle the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. Port Richmond won 23-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Dewey (Brooklyn, NY)
