Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Moniteau Warriors (West Sunbury, PA), witnessed New Castle's softball squad tip Moniteau by a count of 9-7.

The Hurricanes now sport a 6-9 record. They play next when they host Shenango for a non-league match on Monday, May 6. New Castle will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 10-1 league win over Freedom Area (Freedom, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Moniteau moves to 4-7 on the season. The Warriors host Cathedral Prep (Erie, PA) to face the Ramblers in a non-league match on Monday, May 6. The Ramblers go into the match with a record of 10-5. Cathedral Prep won 11-1 in their recent league match against Warren (Warren, PA)
