South Williamsport Mountaineers (South Williamsport, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Southern Columbia Area Tigers (Catawissa, PA), 13-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mountaineers now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shikellamy for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. South Williamsport will face a Braves squad coming off a 7-5 league win over Williamsport (Williamsport, PA). The Braves record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Southern Columbia Area falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Tigers host Shamokin Area (Coal Township, PA) to face the Indians in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 6. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 12-3. Shamokin Area won 14-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bloomsburg (Bloomsburg, PA)
