In Saturday's non-league bout, the Plainfield Central Wildcats (Plainfield, IL) baseball squad the visiting Elk Grove Grenadiers (Elk Grove Village, IL), by a score of 5-1.
Next up, the Wildcats encounter the Joliet Central Steelmen (Joliet, IL) in a Southwest Prairie bout, on Monday, May 5. Plainfield Central will attempt to advance on its 20-4 season record. The Steelmen enter the bout with a 4-20 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL).
The Grenadiers (6-14) will now prepare for their bout against Prospect (Mt. Prospect, IL). The Knights enter the Mid-Suburban - East bout with a 14-7 record. In their last bout, Prospect was overwhelmed by Naperville Central (Naperville, IL), 6-3, in a non-league bout.
