Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) fans left the game pleased Saturday as they observed their baseball squad nip the host Stonington Bears (Stonington, CT), 5-4 in a non-league match.
With the triumph, Wheeler advances its record to 5-3 on the season. The Lions host New London (New London, CT) to battle the Whalers in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 6. The Whalers come into the match with a record of 5-5. New London won 7-3 in their recent non-league match against Griswold (Griswold, CT)
The Bears now have a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Montville for a Eastern Connecticut - Division III match on Wednesday, May 7.
