The crowd at Saturday's non-league battle between the Homestead Mustangs (Cupertino, CA) and the host Fremont Firebirds (Sunnyvale, CA), saw Homestead's baseball team beat Fremont by a margin of 7-3.

The Mustangs (7-15) will now prepare for their battle against Palo Alto (Palo Alto, CA). The Vikings enter the battle with a 9-13 record. In their last battle, Palo Alto held off Hollister (Hollister, CA), 3-2, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Firebirds face the Santa Clara Bruins (Santa Clara, CA) in a battle, on Monday, May 12. Fremont will attempt to improve on its 5-7 season record. The Bruins enter the battle with a 12-5 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Harbor (Santa Cruz, CA).
