In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Middletown Islanders lacrosse squad scored a tight 10-8 triumph over the Cumberland Clippers.

The Islanders (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Chariho (Wood River Junction, RI). The Chargers go into the Division 2 contest with a 2-9 record. In their last contest, Chariho was edged by Smithfield (Esmond, RI), 13-8, in a league contest.

Next, the Clippers meet the South Kingstown Rebels (Wakefield, RI) in a Division 1 (State) contest, on Monday, May 5. Cumberland will attempt to better on its 1-8 season record. The Rebels go into the contest with a 8-4 record after their 13-7 league win over Cumberland (Cumberland, RI).
