The McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars softball squad (Salem, SD), was routed 7-4 in Saturday's non-league contest with the visiting Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD)

With the triumph, Sioux Valley improves its record to 7-6 on the year. The Cossacks host Sisseton (Sisseton, SD) to face the Redmen in a Class A contest on Tuesday, May 6. The Redmen enter the contest with a record of 0-5.

The Fighting Cougars now hold a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Scotland/Menno for a Class B contest on Monday, May 5. McCook Central/Montrose will face a Trappers squad coming off a 5-1 league loss to Bon Homme (Tyndall, SD). The Trappers record now stands at 4-4.
