Spectators at Friday's league match between the West Monona Spartans (Onawa, IA) and the visiting Westwood Rebels (Sloan, IA), witnessed West Monona's softball squad prevail over Westwood by a count of 13-1.

The Spartans now sport a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Ridge View for a Western Valley match on Monday, June 3.

With the loss, Westwood moves to 4-4 on the season. The Rebels travel to Woodbury Central (Moville, IA) to meet the Wildcats in a Western Valley match on Wednesday, June 5. The Wildcats go into the match with a record of 9-1. Woodbury Central won 7-3 in their recent non-league match against South O'Brien (Paullina, IA)
