The Solon Spartans baseball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Iowa City West Trojans to 4 in the Spartans non-league win on Saturday.

The Spartans now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Independence for a WaMaC-East test on Monday, June 2. Solon will play a Mustangs team coming off a 24-9 non-league win over Maquoketa Valley (Delhi, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-2.

With the defeat, Iowa City West drops to 1-2 on the year. The Trojans travel to Linn-Mar (Marion, IA) to play the Lions in a Mississippi Valley - Valley test on Monday, June 2. The Lions go into the test with a record of 3-5. Linn-Mar lost 5-0 in their recent non-league test against Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA)
