In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Heyworth Hornets baseball team scored a tight 6-4 victory over the Pontiac Indians.
The Hornets (7-15) will now prepare for their game against Hartsburg-Emden (Hartsburg, IL). The Stags go into the non-league game with a 1-12 record.
The Indians (8-11) will now prepare for their game against Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL). The Panthers go into the Illini Prairie game with a 10-13 record. In their last game, Paxton-Buckley-Loda tipped Rantoul (Rantoul, IL), 21-6, in a league game.
