Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 13-3 record. They take the field next when they host St. Mary's Ryken for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 5. Northern will face a Knights squad coming off a 6-1 league win over St. Paul VI (Chantilly, VA). The Knights record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, La Plata falls to 13-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to North Point (Waldorf, MD) to face the Eagles in a Southern Maryland challenge on Friday, May 6. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 8-7. North Point won 19-6 in their recent league challenge against Great Mills (Great Mills, MD)
