In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Eureka Hornets baseball team scored a tight 13-12 victory over the Mercer County Golden Eagles.
The Hornets (22-2) will now prepare for their game against Farmington (Farmington, IL). The Farmers go into the non-league game with a 10-12 record. In their last game, Farmington tipped Princeville (Princeville, IL), 12-7, in a non-league game.
The Golden Eagles (10-12) will now prepare for their game against Abingdon/Avon (Abingdon, IL). The Tornadoes go into the Prairieland game with a 10-10 record. In their last game, Abingdon/Avon was edged by Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL), 18-3, in a non-league game.
