New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Anderson Indians (Anderson, IN), 22-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 5-9 record. They take the field next when they host Greenfield-Central for a Hoosier Heritage challenge on Friday, May 5. New Castle will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 9-7 league win over New Palestine (New Palestine, IN). The Cougars record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Anderson falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, IN) to battle the Royals in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Royals enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. Hamilton Southeastern lost 1-0 in their recent league challenge against Brownsburg (Brownsburg, IN)
