Buckeye Local Panthers (Rayland, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host St. Clairsville Red Devils (St. Clairsville, OH), 9-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 4-17 record. They take the field next when they travel to Monroe Central for a Ohio Valley Athletic AAA challenge on Friday, May 5. Buckeye Local will battle a Seminoles squad coming off a 13-7 league loss to Shenandoah (Sarahsville, OH). The Seminoles record now stands at 12-10.

With the loss, St. Clairsville falls to 1-19 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Meadowbrook (Byesville, OH) to battle the Colts in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Colts enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Meadowbrook lost 8-6 in their recent league challenge against Crooksville (Crooksville, OH)
