Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Plainfield North Tigers (Plainfield, IL), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they host Huntley for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 5. Joliet West will battle a Red Raiders squad coming off a 18-2 league win over Cary-Grove (Cary, IL). The Red Raiders record now stands at 16-6.

With the loss, Plainfield North falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host Yorkville (Yorkville, IL) to battle the Foxes in a Suburban Prairie - South challenge on Monday, May 8. The Foxes enter the challenge with a record of 23-1. Yorkville won 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Minooka (Minooka, IL)
