Lakeshore Lancers (Stevensville, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mishawaka Marian for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. Lakeshore will face a Knights squad coming off a 8-0 league loss to Penn (Mishawaka, IN). The Knights record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Kalamazoo Central falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Maroon giants host Three Rivers (Three Rivers, MI) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Three Rivers won 21-0 in their recent league challenge against Plainwell (Plainwell, MI)
