In Saturday's non-league contest, the Broughton Capitals (Raleigh, NC) lacrosse squad edged the host Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC), by a count of 9-8.

Coming up next, the Capitals confront the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, May 7. Broughton will attempt to advance on its 16-5 season record. The Screaming Eagle come into the contest with a 15-3 record after their 16-4 non-league win over Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC).

The Pirates now own a 17-3 record.
