The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Half Hollow Hills East Thunderbirds (Dix Hills, NY) and the host Ward Melville Patriots (East Setauket, NY), saw Half Hollow Hills East's lacrosse team nudge Ward Melville by a margin of 12-11.
The Thunderbirds (9-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Huntington (Huntington, NY). The Blue Devils enter the non-league challenge with a 12-3 record. In their last challenge, Huntington edged Bay Shore (Bay Shore, NY), 16-5, in a non-league challenge.
The Patriots (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Southampton (Southampton, NY). The Mariners enter the Section 11 I challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Southampton edged Brentwood (Brentwood, NY), 19-0, in a league challenge.
