The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) and the visiting Bonner Springs Braves (Bonner Springs, KS), saw Piper's softball squad achieve victory over Bonner Springs by a count of 9-1.

The Pirates now sport a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shawnee Heights for a non-league match on Tuesday, May 7. Piper will face a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 12-1 league loss to Seaman (Topeka, KS). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 10-4.

With the loss, Bonner Springs falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Braves host Baldwin (Baldwin, KS) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Tuesday, May 7. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 3-10. Baldwin won 8-2 in their recent non-league match against Wellsville (Wellsville, KS)
