In Saturday's non-league contest, the Lincoln-Way East Griffins (Frankfort, IL) softball team held off the visiting Oswego Panthers (Oswego, IL), by a margin of 2-1.
With the triumph, Lincoln-Way East moves its record to 18-10 on the year. The Griffins travel to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL) to play the Eagles in a SouthWest Suburban contest on Thursday, May 9. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 16-7.
In their next game, the Panthers play the Plainfield North Tigers (Plainfield, IL) in a Suburban Prairie - South contest, on Monday, May 6. Oswego will attempt to move on its 16-8 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 7-14 record after their 10-0 league win over Joliet Central (Joliet, IL).
