Northview Wildcats (Grand Rapids, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Spring Lake Lakers (Spring Lake, MI), 8-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 13-12 record. They take the field next when they host Kenowa Hills for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 4. Northview will face a Knights squad coming off a 16-4 non-league loss to South Christian (Grand Rapids, MI). The Knights record now stands at 7-6.

With the loss, Spring Lake falls to 5-12 on the campaign. The Lakers host Holland Christian (Holland, MI) to face the Maroons in a Ottawa-Kent - Blue challenge on Tuesday, May 7. The Maroons enter the challenge with a record of 5-9. Holland Christian won 5-3 in their recent non-league challenge against West Ottawa (Holland, MI)
