The Sidney Team softball team scored 12 runs and limited the host Norwich Purple Tornado to 1 in the Team non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Sidney improves its record to 8-6 on the year. The Team host Oxford Academy (Oxford, NY) to clash with the Blackhawks in a Section 4 Midstate I game on Monday, May 6. The Blackhawks come into the game with a record of 0-1. Oxford Academy lost 11-3 in their recent league game against Delaware Academy (Delhi, NY)

In their next game, the Purple Tornado clash with the Owego Free Academy River Hawks (Owego, NY) in a Section 4 Southern Tier - East game, on Tuesday, May 7. Norwich will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record. The River Hawks come into the game with a 5-7 record after their 6-5 non-league loss to Tioga (Tioga Center, NY).
