Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Watervliet Panthers (Watervliet, MI) and the visiting Pioneer Pioneers (Ann Arbor, MI), witnessed Watervliet's softball squad tip Pioneer by a count of 1-0.

The Panthers now sport a 10-6 record. They play next when they host Lake Orion for a non-league match on Saturday, May 4. Watervliet will face a Dragons squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Clarkston (Clarkston, MI). The Dragons record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Pioneer moves to 2-3 on the season. The Pioneers travel to Monroe (Monroe, MI) to face the Trojans in a Southeastern - Red match on Monday, May 6. The Trojans go into the match with a record of 7-8. Monroe won 8-7 in their recent non-league match against Flat Rock (Flat Rock, MI)
