The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the visiting Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL), saw Mt. Vernon's baseball team gain a win over Murphysboro by a tally of 11-1.

The Rams (15-9) will now prepare for their battle against Centralia (Centralia, IL). The Orphans enter the South Seven battle with a 9-12 record. In their last battle, Centralia was overwhelmed by North Clay/Clay City (Louisville, IL), 20-4, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Red Devils face the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, May 6. Murphysboro will attempt to upgrade on its 4-18 season record. The Panthers enter the battle with a 12-9 record after their 6-1 non-league loss to Marion (Marion, IL).
